Big Island day 2

The second day on the Big Island we went downtown to walk around and eat and check out the farmer's market. I love the historic feel of downtown Hilo.

Later on we went to Akaka and Kahuna falls. Akaka Falls is 442 feet and is breathtaking to see. (I like to play tourist in Hawaii.) Somehow I didn't get a picture of Kahuna falls, but it was pretty far away. I felt like a bad parent because Isla didn't have shoes on, but luckily the half mile trail was paved and relatively easy, with some steep areas.

Another mini waterfall we saw along the trail.

After that, we drove to the remote town of Laupahoehoe to go to the train museum. Kainoa absolutely loved that. It was really cute and informative.

We were going to go to a music festival right after this, but when we got there, we realized we only had 5 dollars. ha. Being pretty much in the middle of nowhere, we headed back.

We stopped at 2 ladies Kitchen to get their special, strawberry mochi. A huge strawberry covered in azuki beans and mochi. LOVE!

The kids eating a snack after all the fun.

Cool pics! Kaimoa reminds me so much of Keegan! I love the one of him in front of the train. Looks like you all had a great time!
