Thoughts, signs and superstitions

It's been a funky week for me. Have hardly been taking pictures, been a little down, kids acting crazy with Kainoa on spring break. I don't even know what to blog about but I haven't blogged in a couple days so I want to write something down. This whole week has been a little bit of ups, and a whole lot of downs.

Still thinking about the situation in Japan, and so sad about what the country is going through. I keep thinking of my friends still stationed there and hope that they are ok.

A few days ago I was shocked to hear that another surfer from Kauai, Sion Milosky, died surfing at Mavericks. I didn't know him personally; we went to the same high school but he was a few years older. He was a friend of my ex's, and it being a small island I had seen him around a few times. But his death just shook me; I'm so sad about his young family left behind.

At Isla's neurology appointment a few days ago, the dr. was concerned about her behavior. She's been getting more hyper and aggressive lately. I had been telling myself it was just the terrible twos, but maybe it's more than that. They want to do another EEG in May and then maybe change her medication. Now my mind can't get off of that.

Yesterday, my friend's husband got into a freak accident. It was so shocking and surreal. I watched their 4 kids yesterday while he was in surgery. We had all planned to go camping this weekend, but now he's recovering and hopefully will be good as new in a few months.

I don't know what it is about this week. Jamie's been working crazy hours so I haven't seen him much. I didn't get to take pictures of the supermoon because of the rain and clouds. But, I did take pictures of this scary looking black witch moth.
What's crazy is, I had never seen one before. But last weekend, I saw one in a public bathroom and I thought it was a bat. It was bigger than my hand! Then I saw this one yesterday, right outside our back door. Then today I saw 2 more by the back door, all 3 right next to eacthother. I admit I'm superstitious, and feel like it's a sign. I've always believed moths to be a symbol of death somehow. I know it sounds crazy, but I think it's somebody watching over me; like my grandparents.
