Ikebukuro Sunshine City

On Saturday, we decided to take Kainoa to an Aquarium in Ikebukuro. It's in this place called Sunshine City, which we've never been to, and has one of the tallest buildings in Japan. So we jumped on the train and got there, and was amazed at the size of this place. It's considered a "city within a city" and it really is like a whole place built into a huge complex. There was an aquarium, planetarium, an indoor theme park, a hotel, a monkey show,

mini concerts and entertainment, and tons of shops and restaurants all inside. We got totally lost too, walking all over trying to find stuff. It's probably the hardest city we've been to so far in terms of ease for foreigners. But it was all good, we found the aquarium and planetarium, went to a toyota car show,

and went shopping. By the end of the day, I was soo tired I couldn't walk anymore, luckily they had rooms available at the hotel. We had to wear the same stuff the next day, but it wasn't too bad. I found a relatively cheap store and got some basic underwear and stuff. We spent a ton of money, but it was worth it. Kainoa had a lot of fun, although he had his share of obnoxious toddler behavior.

He wouldn't take off this cowboy hat, so we got a few stares and giggles.

He was a little freaked out by the crab.

This was Kainoa's favorite animal, the little otter. It kept coming over and doing flips in front of him. Kainoa was just cracking up and didn't wanna leave.

who knew pelicans were so huge?

I tried out this new ice cream, wasn't sure what it was called, but it was soo good. It was flaky and whipped almost like cotton candy, and had a soft creamy light texture. It was amazing.

The next day we woke up to some cold weather. I was in shorts so I was freezing my butt off. Fall is definitely in the air! until next time....
