Macro Fun

I've been really inspired lately by some macro shots I've seen online. I don't have a macro lens, so I did the old reverse lens trick and used my 50mm as a macro. I've learned that it is really hard to take macro pics! From finding something interesting to take a picture of, to keeping the camera steady and manually focusing correctly. Definitely something I need to get better at. Hopefully I can get a macro lens one of these days. And okay I know I am posting 2 pictures but I couldn't decide which I liked better. The first is my daughters little Belle action figure, and the second is the center of a hibiscus flower.

That is really cool. I've not ever tried a macro pic. Any suggestions?

Wow, Janell. You are amazing. I love that you are such a renaissance gal & will try anything! I would have just thought, oh well, don't have a macro, can't do it. NOT YOU!!! Super cool shots!

I enjoy shooting marco. I usually go after berries and flowers.

I recently ordered a marco lens, it hasn't arrived yet and I'm thinking of cancelling. I have a lens, filter "thing" which acts like a Magnifying glass. It does a fairly good job, although there isn't much of a focal length.

nice job with the lens reverse.

I'm going to have to look into what a "reverse lens trick" is---sounds interesting! Either way, it produces really cool results. I like them both, but I especially love the flower- very surreal!

I'm lovin' the flower! I think you did a great job even with the 50mm! Hopefully you'll get a macro one day!
