An Irish feast

So Monday I decide to do a whole Irish feast for Jamie, since his family is very much into their Irish heritage. I wanted to do corned beef, but off course the commissary didn't have it. So I went with a Guinness stew, colcannon (mashed potatoes mixed with bacon and cabbage), Irish soda bread, and fried cabbage.

I thought the cabbage and the colcannon came out really good, the stew...not so much. It was okay, but I wasn't a fan of the beer taste. The bread was very heavy, not what I expected. It was like a huge biscuit. Not bad, but not...awesome. Anyway, I think next year I'll do something different.

Today I have to find some time to do Kainoa's easter basket. I found out our trip to Hiroshima fell through, so we will be staying home for Easter. ahh well.

Oh yeah, another thing I've been up to is I started a program called the couch to 5k. basically it's a way to get me to work out more. Every week I go walking/jogging until I can build myself up to 30 minutes of straight running. So far, it's killing me. But I feel so much better about myself after. Hopefully it lasts!

Here's a boring bento:
