early birthday, preschool and other things

Jamie came home Wednesday night, so I haven't been online much. Kainoa was especially happy to see daddy back, he missed him so much. Too bad that Jamie had to go back to work immediately since they are so busy right now, he couldn't take any reconstitution time.

On Thursday we had another meeting at the school to discuss Kainoa going to preschool. He met the teacher and his new speech therapist, and we toured the room. Kainoa really liked the speech therapist, he held her hand right away and let her lead him around the room. He's still a little iffy with the teacher though. The room is really cute, pretty big and very organized. He's going to be starting in March on Mondays and Wednesdays. I'm sooo excited but nervous! But I honestly think he'll do okay. There are only about 6 other kids in the classroom, and there are two assistants, so he'll have plenty of individual attention.

Today my friends Sarah and Ashley came over for breakfast with the kids. They brought over presents and cupcakes for Kainoa's birthday, I thought that was so sweet. The kids had fun playing and we had fun gossiping.

Since Sarah's birthday is right after Kainoa's, I also got her a little present too. I got her a little bento box and wrapped it Japanese style in a furoshiki. Furoshiki is like a bandanna type fabric that Japanese people use to wrap gifts, bentos, etc. (i'm obsessed with that right now). Jennah got me a Furoshiki book for Christmas and it has great ideas for wrapping. I also sewed a little onigiri stuffie to accent the gift.
